FAQ

Q: Do I need a laser cartridge?
A: No - Path uses your camera and AI vision; no cartridges required.

Q: What devices work?
A: iPhone 6+ recommended.

Q: How far from the target?
A: Recommended ~3 yards for optimal path capture (works from 3–5 yards).

Q: Is it safe to use with a real gun?
A: Yes - use standard dry-fire safety: confirm unloaded, separate live ammo, use snap caps for rimfire if desired. 

Q: Will it work with recoil training guns?
A: Not in this release. The recoil motion creates rapid, high-energy movement that currently prevents the AI from reliably distinguishing intentional sight/muzzle movement from recoil. For best results, use Path™ with non-recoiling training setups.

Q: Will all targets work with the app?
A: No. For reliable detection, the app expects targets similar to the one in your package. Recommended target specs: a solid red or bright orange background, at least 3 inches (3″) in diameter, and clear contrasting aiming marks (rings, bull, or radial markers). Avoid glossy surfaces, very small targets, low-contrast prints, or targets with busy backgrounds, as these reduce detection accuracy. 

Q: Will it work with multiple targets?
A: Not in this release. The current version is designed to analyze the first shot, which is the most important one in any situation - whether it’s competition or self-defense. The first shot often determines the outcome, and Path™ helps you perfect that moment. Multi-target and transition tracking are planned for a future update.
