Instructions to use Path diagnostics
🔧 Quick Start: iDryfire Path™ Hardware
⚠️ Safety First
Always treat the firearm as if it is loaded. Before proceeding, personally verify that it is unloaded, clear, and safe to use.

📌 Mounting Guide
- Place the Path clamp onto your firearm's Picatinny rail.
- Hand-tighten until it is secure, firm, and wobble-free.
- Open the phone clamp, place your smartphone centered, and close the clamp securely.

🛠️ Calibration Steps
1. Target Setup
Secure the included target in its designated position.
🎯 Use the Included 3-Inch Target — No Substitutes: To ensure accurate hit/miss detection, you must use the included 3-inch target exactly as provided. It features a specific color and pattern optimized for the AI recognition algorithm. Do not substitute, resize, or modify it.
If displaying the target on a TV or monitor, use a physical ruler to verify it measures exactly 3 inches across. Adjust screen scaling as needed.

2. Initiate Calibration & Wall Scan

Camera Scanning Tip for Optimal Calibration:
Begin from your shooting position and gently sweep the camera across the wall boundaries in a continuous "snake" pattern:
- Start by aiming at the top-left corner, moving smoothly and slowly to the right edge of the wall.
- Lower your aim slightly to the center, moving smoothly from right to left.
- Lower your aim toward the junction where the wall meets the floor, moving from left to right to capture the floor edge.
- Pro Scan Enhancement: Transition immediately into 3 vertical columns—move upwards from bottom-left to top-left, shift to the center and down toward the floor, then move upwards one final time.
📌 Pro Tip: Avoid rapid or jerky movements. Smooth, consistent motion yields the best calibration results.

3. Close-Range Target Scan
Move closer to the target and scan it as you would a QR code.
4. Final Alignment and Fire
Return to your original position, aim at the target, and perform a dry-fire shot.

5. Confirmation
Calibration is now complete and you are ready to train.

SELECT NUMBER OF TARGETS
- Single-Action Firearms: Uses ONE active target. You may set multiple inactive targets and one active target for dynamic drills.
Example Flow (1+ Targets for Single-Action):
- Wait for the buzzer.
- Engage an Inactive Target—acquire and confirm your sight picture without firing.
- Transition to the next target.
- Engage the Active Target—aim, confirm sight picture, and dry fire.
- Double-Action / Training Guns / Reset Triggers: You can engage multiple active targets in sequence.
SELECT PAR-TIME

Sets a hard time limit to complete a drill or action, building speed and consistency under pressure.
PAR-Time Tip: Start with a longer time window if you're new. Gradually shorten it as your speed improves.
SELECT NUMBER OF SESSIONS (Repetitions)

- Set your desired back-to-back sessions. Each session auto-launches to keep you sharp.
- Post-Set Strategy: Analyze your metrics between sets. If performance plateaus due to fatigue, end the session to preserve training quality.
SELECT RESTART DELAY BETWEEN SESSIONS

Gives you time to reset your trigger, breathe, and prepare. Shorter intervals increase intensity; longer ones support precision.
SELECT RANDOM BUZZ DELAY

Toggles a randomized start cue to simulate stress and sharpen instinctive reaction timing.
DETAILED SHOT SCALE / PRE- & POST-SHOT WINDOWS

- Detailed Shot Scale: Analyze micro-movements and trigger press mechanics.
- Pre-Shot Window (RED line): Shows movement before the shot. Aim for a straight, short line indicating stable sight acquisition.

- Post-Shot Window (BLUE line): Shows movement after the shot to analyze post-trigger stability and follow-through precision.

TRIGGER DETECTOR & AUDIO SETTINGS
- Sensitivity: Controls how easily trigger clicks are detected. 0.10 is recommended to avoid false positives from ambient noise.
- Audio Cues & Gunshot Sound: Toggle speech prompts, UI sound effects, and live-fire acoustics.
BLACKOUT SCREEN

Once the buzzer sounds, the screen turns completely black, eliminating visual distractions and keeping your focus locked on the target.
🟢 Low-Ready Accuracy Drill

Objective: Build consistent, repeatable performance from the low-ready position through daily practice.

Drill Instructions:
- Start Position: Stable low-ready stance, muzzle safely downrange.
- Raise & Align: Smoothly raise the firearm to target (3–5 yards). Pause briefly to confirm natural sight alignment.
- Trigger Control: Execute a clean press without disturbing the sight picture.
- Reset & Repeat: Return to low-ready for subsequent reps.

Training Focus:
- ✅ Natural sight alignment during presentation
- ✅ Controlled, deliberate trigger pull
- ✅ Minimizing unnecessary corrections
🟢 Positive Weight = Better Practice

Adding a smartphone (~10–14 oz) to your pistol increases overall weight—enhancing the physical challenge and training value:
- 💪 Strengthens Grip & Stability: Extra weight activates grip, wrist, and forearm muscles to build endurance and reduce sight wobble.
- 🎯 Reveals Trigger Errors: Heavier setups exaggerate muzzle movement, making trigger-related disruptions instantly visible on the Path trace.
